WR FADE, WR BOOST!

One player at Wide receiver I’m fading and one player at Wide receiver I’m boosting!

The Wide receiver I am fading right now is Davante Adams… I know… I know Davante Adams has been a top 5 fantasy wide receiver for what seems like a decade, but that run is about to come to an end. I’m not saying Adams won’t finish around top 10 to 15 at the wide receiver position when all is said and done, but this season will have plenty of hurdles for him. Starting at QB, Adams has played with a Pro Bowl Caliber quarterback that he’s has solid rapport with for years. With Jimmy G coming to Vegas, this offense, will be a run heavy, play action oriented offense. Garoppolo has never supported a top 5 fantasy wideout and why would he now. Adams may have a better catch rate this season as Garoppolo is a more accurate QB than Carr but there wont be the big plays down the field that Carr was able to chuck deep. Adams also has the 29th ranked strength of schedule for wide receivers this season. Look for Adams to be solid but not the value you need with his ADP of 13th overall.

Everyone’s hot rising fantasy guy this year seems to be Garrett Wilson, I agree but with all the hype of Aaron Rodgers coming to New York, Wilson will go top 12 to15 in most drafts and that’s just a little too rich for my blood.

The wide receiver who I think will blow away their ADP of 32 overall, is Chris Olave! It’s just a  coincidence he now has Davante Adams old buddy in Derek Carr, but Olave was able to produce a stellar 1,000 yard 4 TD rookie season. 2022 came with an unstable QB rotation of Winston, veteran Dalton and a slasher QB in Taysom Hill. Olave will have a QB with an arm and while not the most accurate QB, Olave will be making big plays down the field. He also has the ability to make people miss and turn the corner to take a 5 out to the house! His downfield skill set and per-route efficiency will work extremely well with Derek Carr. Olave is also a prime candidate to experience positive TD regression after finishing as just one of three WRs with 1,000 receiving yards to score fewer than 5 TDs. Olave has the 2nd easiest strength of schedule for wide receivers. I look for Olave to take a major jump and score 10+ touchdowns this season, which would put him easily in the top 5 Wide receivers this season.
