3 Deep Sleepers

Russell Wilson (PGH)

Russell Wilson is looking to go out on top in Pittsburgh. He is on a one year deal and this offseason has looked to crush and be in the best shape of his life. He comes to Pittsburgh with a chip on his shoulder, and looks to prove any doubters wrong. Justin Fields was also brought in to compete for the starting job, but Steelers brass insists its Wilsons job to lose. Wilson is either going to elevate himself this year or find him self carrying a clipboard in week 8. I’m willing to bet on Wilson to return to his Pro Bowl form and elevate this Steeler offense. Let’s not forget Wilson threw for 26 TD’s and 3,070 yards in 15 games for a coach who didn’t even want him on the field. Tomlin and newOC Arthur Smith will get the best out of Wilson in 2024.

Kendrell Miller (NO)

Miller was rehabbing a college injury for almost all of last season, so he never got much chance to showcase his skill set. In week 18 with Alvin Kamara inactive, he showed his athleticism averaging 5.6 yards per carry. Kamara isn’t a spring chicken and hasn’t possessed the reliability he used to in years past. Miller may take on a larger role, specifically as a rusher in-between the tackles. The long-time Kamara still can post receiving numbers with the best of them, but his rushing efficiency is starting decline heavily. Last year, Kamara ranked 40th out of 49 qualifying backs in missed tackles forced per attempt and fourth-worst in rushing yards above expectation per attempt. The 22-year-old Miller could be the guy in Klint Kubiak’s new offensive scheme, which could be similar to the 49ers.

Dontayvion Wicks (GB)

Wicks didn’t see enough consistent playing time to be a real fantasy factor as a rookie last year. Enter year two in this offense I want to get a piece of Green Bay where I can. Wicks drew a target on 20% of his pass routes and averaged 1.94 yards per route. That ranked 43rd and 22nd, respectively, among 78 qualifying WRs. The Packers week 8 through their upset of Dallas in the Wild Card round was on fire! Jordan Love should take another step step this year and Wicks will be a guy that will get more opportunities this year with Aaron Jones’s exit, leaving catches that need to be filled. Should Wicks have to move up the depth chart because of an injury, and Watson isn’t a model of health, Wicks could surprise and be a huge sleeper in 2024.
