Wide Receivers who are undervalued!

You get a few funny looks from your league mates when you draft a guy, but by November, that same guy is dumping fantasy points on your opponents. There are lots of ways to define a fantasy football sleeper. The key point is to draft guys that are set to return big value for your fantasy team as late-round picks. Guys looking to take a bigger role, wheter because of loss at the postion, or aging talent. A guy that was brought in to be relied upon and has  good track record with prior team. Here are a few guys that we think fit that line of thinking.

Ladd McConkey (LAC)

I LOVE, I LOVE this guy this year! McConkey’s fantasy stock rose in the offseason with him being picked near the top of the second round of the NFL draft. He ultimately landed with the Chargers, who traded Keenan Allen and released Mike Williams in the offseason. That opens almost 20 targets per game, some of which will no doubt be absorbed by McConkey. Herbert has shown he can easily support 2 wide receivers in fantasy value. Even with an expected heavier ground attack with Harbaugh, McConkey will return at minimum flex value as a rookie.

Jayden Reed (GB)

Jayden Reed made an impact in his rookie season, as a primary slot receiver for the Packers. Despite not always playing a full-time role, he was heavily targeted, with a 25% target rate per route run and just under 2 yards per route run. Reed led all Packers wide receivers in points/game with 10.6 and ten touchdowns. He finished as a top-12 WR in 33% of his games (12th) and ranked fourth in fantasy points per snap.

Darnell Mooney (ATL)

2023 seemed like the year it was all going to come together for Darnell Mooney. The Bears finally got a WR1 to take pressure off of Mooney, giving him a chance to bust out in a downfield role. Unfortunately, Mooney finished his final year in Chi Town with the worst-career of his season despite playing 15 games. Mooney set career lows in targets, receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns. Some fresh scenery in Atlanta and a capable QB in Cousins could finally get Mooney the stats we’ve all been hoping for. Cousins should make an immediate impact in the passing game for the Falcons and Mooney.
