Oldies but Goodies for 2024
Every year guys fall off in a big way. I’ve avoided guys in past drafts because of the high chance they could take a huge dip in fantasy production because of age. Circumstances change for older players every year even if they have been studs in the past. Several guys are in line to take that dip this year… guys like Keenan Allen and Aaron Jones. Here is one older player at each postion that should still hold up their end for fantasy in 2024.
WIDE RECEIVER
Amari Cooper (CLE)
Amari keeps on quietly finishing as a top 15 WR. Now at age 30, he doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. Cooper ranked 23rd in target share (22.1%), 13th in air-yard share (39%), and 12th in YPRR. Watson was very unimpressive last season and Flacco had to come save the day. It really doesn’t matter who is at WR for the Browns, Copper should easily put up 1,000 yards and have a shot at double digit TD’s this year.

Derrick Henry (BAL)
Henry is that dude! In 2023 he ranked first in rushing attempts and second in rushing yards while showing still being efficient. Even though he is now 30 years old, I can’t see a drop-off and see that he will continue to be a RB1. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said he expects Derrick Henry to maintain a big workload and I expect the same. He came to Baltimore to run himself into the ground for a championship. Henry will be a bell-cow and in a Ravens rushing attack may put up his best fantasy season in recent years. Ride this train for one more year!
QUARTERBACK
Aaron Rodgers
Rodgers’s 2023 was so short lived it’s almost like it never happened. Rodgers is the oldest starting QB in the league, but has aged well. Rodgers has something to prove this year and with a plethora of weapons at his disposal, with additions of Mike Williams and Malachai Corley to the receiver room with an already elite WR in Garret Wilson. A healthy Breece Hall and revamped offensive line, should help Rodgers get back to his elite status. Barring injury Rodgers should put up top 10 numbers in fantasy this season.

TIGHT END
Evan Engram
At age 29, Engram has become one of the most productive pass catchers at the position even after being a bust for in his early years with the Giants. Engram finished TE6 in half-point PPR fantasy scoring in 2022, then finished TE2 last year. In 2023 Engram had 114 catches and also had a career-high 963 receiving yards. Engram has become Trevor Lawrence’s favorite security blanket, Engram had four games with double-digit reception totals in 2023 and eight games with seven or more receptions. He should be considered a top 5 TE for 2024.
