3 Sleepers at Tight End
3 Tight end sleepers I am targeting right now in drafts.
This guy really isn’t a sleeper but is being slept on right now with a #26 overall ADP. After catching 107 passes for 1,361 yards and nine touchdowns and leading all tight ends in fantasy scoring in 2021, Mark Andrews was off to a hot start in 2022 before injuries and quarterback play dropped off with Lamar Jackson out of the lineup. Andrews could be tight end 1 before seasons end and Kelce is being taken in the first round in most drafts. If Andrews falls to the 3rd round in your draft, pick him with confidence.
#3 – Juwan Johnson – The Saints didn’t select any of the top tight ends from a loaded TE draft class, and they traded TE Trautman to the Broncos. They did sign TE Foster Moreau, who is recovering from Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and reportedly plans to play this year., but Johnson has been a diamond in the rough for the Saints and could take a leap this year with David Carr at QB. You can select Johnson in the last round of your draft.
#2 – Cole Kmet – Kmet got off to a really slow start in 2022, catching five passes for 56 yards over his first four games, but still finished TE8 in PPR fantasy scoring. I loved Kmet last year but think I was a year early. Kmet led the team in targets (69), catches (50), receiving yards (544) and TD catches (7) in 2022. Look for a small boost in catches this season as Fields grows as a passer. DJ Moore being added also gives Kmet some more room for routes in the middle of the field. Even if Kmet stays at TE 8 in 2023 he will still outperform his ADP of 125.
#1 – Pat Freiermuth – Freiermuth only had 2 touchdowns but drew 98 targets in his second season and finished with 63 catches for 732 yards. The former second-round draft pick has a solid fantasy floor as a key component of the Pittsburgh passing game. If his touchdown total can get back to his total of 7 in 2021 he could be a steal in drafts.
